Gemma is the founder and director of The Owl and The Coconut. She has an MA in Art Psychotherapy and is a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist. With over ten years experience of working in adult mental health, Primary Care NHS services, and not for profit organisations. This experience guided her to naturally bring the skills and tools of Art Psychotherapy and Mindfulness together. Pamela is a Person Centred Counsellor, with over ten years of experience working in local NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Pamela is currently studying a Masters MSC in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at Salford University, and has a particular interest in sharing Compassion Focussed and Mindfulness skills with young people. Pam is a director and project facilitator at The Owl and The Coconut.
Karen has worked in the third sector for over 20 years. She has developed her Mindfulness practice with a special interest in Compassion, and has completed the Mindfulness Practitioner Training Programme (PTP) at Mind in Salford. Karen is a director and project facilitator at The Owl and The Coconut.
Sherelle has a wealth of experience gained from working on Community Arts projects around the North West including the Manchester International Festival. Sherelle has been instrumental on key areas such as our Vision, Values and Mission.
Alice is a fabulous film maker.
Alice worked with us as a volunteer and is now our go to film maker. Alice is amazing at connecting with people and social organisations, and helping them to tell their stories.
Jodie is an amazing painter and a qualified Art Psychotherapist. She joined us many years ago as a group member on a continuing professional development (CPD) Mindful Art course for therapists. Jodie then became a member of The Owl and The Coconut team, as a session facilitator. She has a wealth of experience working with adults in a wide range of mental health services, both in the NHS and the third sector.
Melissa is an Art Psychotherapist. She has over ten years of experience using Art Psychotherapy with children and young people, in both schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs). Melissa runs the Community Interest Company she founded at Manchester Art Therapy Space (MATs). Melissa is also an Art Therapy clinical supervisor. She delivers Mindful Art sessions at The Owl and The Coconut, and has been a key influence in informing the growth of our organisation, working alongside us, as we develop and grow.
